The Weekly Round Up, No. 9
If you had to choose one, which would you choose? So many people think that debt freedom = financial freedom/indpendence. Or that you cannot reach financial independence if you have debt. But that is not necessarily true. Let's look at an example. Say you have $4 million in assets. At a very coservative 3% withdrawal rate you would have $120,000 in income virtually forever without ever touching the principle. And let's say you also have a $300 car payment at 2.5% interest. Does it hurt that person to carry debt? No, because they have sufficient cash flow and assets to reduce the risk that comes with debt exposure. But does it benefit them to aggressively pay off the debt? Also no, because their money works harder for them in the market earning more than 2.5% instead of in a depreciating asset (their car). Reducing debt--particularly toxic, high interest consumer debt--can certainly make it easier to reach financial independence. But prioritizing reducing debt over saving and investing at all costs can actually increase the amount of time it will take for you to become financial secure and financially free. Make sure you strike the right balance --------------- P.S. We choose financial freedom.
Self love isn't about being perfect. People can look at your life from the outside and assume so much about you and still not get to the tip of the ice berg about who you are. The point is to love and accept yourself. People are going to hate you, judge you and try to pick you apart and if you're walking with the Lord they'll really throw some jabs. Give them even more reason to be mad and to wonder by loving exactly who God made you to be and appreciating the season you're in. Everything we have and everything that we go through is for a reason. Embrace your journey, accept who you are and do what needs to be done right now in order to be ready for what God has for you next. #faith #journey
In my pursuit of letting go and living with a minimalistic intention, this is what I encountered at my mother's house. I'm selling my books and everything else I'm giving away. We tackled most of the stuff to the right. I was NOT about to go through the clothes. LOL Now, I am meticulous when it comes to my stuff. So much so, that everything is color coordinated AND in order the way I bought it (yeppers), so seeing all of my stuff piled up like this, made my brain shut off. LOL That's what happens when you drop off and go. LOL Thank you @stlgoodshepherd and @the_queen_rising_chronicles I appreciate you so! @afrominimalist and @brownkids aaaah it has begun. LOL Oh and check out the things I found during the process 😂🤣😝
